Welcome to KHOSA Senior Hockey Section

KHOSA Hockey Club is a Westrand based hockey club in Krugersdorp established in 1931. We are affiliated to KHOSA Sports Club. Our teams participate in various hockey competitions and opportunities provided by both the Southern Gauteng Hockey Association and other hockey participation providers.
We have 3 sections within KHOSA Sports Club:

• KHOSA Mini & Junior Hockey ( Separate Section)
• KHOSA Senior Hockey – Outdoor
• KHOSA Senior Hockey - Indoor

Our History

Despite the fact that Krugersdorp fielded a men's hockey team since 1908, according to pictorial evidence, and the fact that the idea of K.H.O.S.A. was accepted in principle in 1917, the first reference to KHOSA fielding a men's hockey team to participate in matches on the West Rand was in 1931.
Over the years we have developed into a well-rounded hockey club with currently 4 ladies and 3 men’s sides playing in the SGHA Senior League. KHOSA Sports Club is also the home to KHOSA Mini & Junior Hockey who cater for players from u’5 up to u’15 level.

Our Values

Our core value in KHOSA Senior Hockey is Family. We are a family and that is how we define ourselves, our world, our values, our Club. From our experiences and interactions with our members to those with other players and clubs. This is the foundation from which we grow. We strive to provide support, encouragement, love, respect, a place to return to. Family roots often extend beyond what we can see. This is what we as a club strive to achieve. Free from judgment and prejudice, a club you can call home and were you can be part of a family.

Club Management

While we obviously need hockey players to make up a team, there are a number of very important volunteer roles across the club we need to highlight. Key portfolios include Chairman, Treasurer, Administration, and Senior Club Captains. The club is run by a small committee. We are always on the look-out for volunteers, to join the committee to help grow and develop the club.
